Church Without Walls

Welcome to Lake Forrest Church! In an era dominated by digital connections and dispersed communities, we're pioneering a new model of Church.

Eschewing the traditional brick-and-mortar approach, we are a Catholic Church intentionally designed to prioritize a vibrant online presence and connect with individuals within their own communities.

Embracing innovation and creativity, we operate primarily in the digital sphere, actively seeking out those who may not resonate with traditional church structures, wherever they live, work, and socialize.

With hearts full of joy and hope!

Lake Forest Church extends its warmest congratulations to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, upon his election to the papacy! As a community of faith, we celebrate this significant moment for the Catholic Church and the world. Adding to our profound sense of connection and elation is the fact that Pope Leo XIV is an American, a detail that fills us with particular pride and allows us to envision a future strengthened by his unique perspective and leadership. We eagerly anticipate the wisdom and guidance he will bring to his new role.

May Flowers, Mental Health, & a Dose of Divine Inspiration! 🌸🧠💖

Hey Lake Forrest Church family! 👋

Happy May! Can you believe it's already here? This month is bursting with new life, blooming flowers, and sunshine (hopefully more sunshine soon!). But May is also Mental Health Awareness Month – a time to shine a light on the importance of taking care of our minds and hearts.

Speaking of light, today's Gospel reading from John 3:31-36 really resonated with me: "He who comes from above is above all..." It reminds us that even when we're feeling down or overwhelmed, there's a source of strength and hope beyond ourselves. Sometimes, just knowing that can make a world of difference.

Think of it like this: when you're feeling like a peach (a little bruised or overripe), remember that the sun (God's love) is always there to give you the warmth you need to rejuvenate.

Let's make this May a month of spreading love, offering support, and prioritizing our well-being. Share a simple act of kindness you're planning to do this month in the comments! Let's fill this space with fun, hope,  and joy! ✨

Man of Faith

A Shepherd Departs: Remembering Pope Francis, the People's Pope

Friends, Romans, Catholics – lend me your ears! Today, a somber cloud hangs over Vatican City, that tiny but mighty sovereign state nestled within Rome, as we mourn the passing of Pope Francis. His death, occurring so close to Easter, when we celebrate resurrection and new beginnings, reminds us that God calls us home in His perfect timing.

Like many of you, I, Pastor Princess, was deeply moved by the news. Tears welled in my eyes, a testament to the profound impact this man had on the world. He wasn't just a figurehead; he was a beacon of hope, a true shepherd for the people. He was real, authentic, and his position never changed his core values – a man for us all.

Pope Francis, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio on December 17, 1936, to Mario José Bergoglio and Regina María Sívori, leaves behind a legacy that will reverberate for generations. He was the Pope of the poor, the champion of the marginalized, and he made it good to be Catholic again! He brought a refreshing wave of humility and genuine connection to a role often perceived as distant and untouchable.

But what happens now? The world watches as the College of Cardinals prepares for the Conclave, that ancient and mysterious process where they will gather, pray, and ultimately choose the next leader of the Catholic Church. It's a pivotal moment, full of tradition and anticipation. And, just for fun, if I had a vote, my top pick would be… (Who do YOU think should be the next Pope? Let us know your choice – shoot us a text at 301-781-3121, we're tallying votes now!

Agape Love Poem

All knees bow down to love. The purest form from above.

God is love, the ultimate guide, Without it, only tolerance resides.

Agape love, selfless and true,A force that binds me and you.

In its embrace, we find peace,And all our worries and fears cease.

Let us cherish this love divine,And let it in our hearts entwine.

For in its, we find our way,And in its light, we see a brighter day.
